Qisoundra Flowers, Chair

To Whom much is given, much is required is the principle that guides my passion to serve my community and the residents therein. It is my great honor that on October 1, 2021, I began my term as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Cultural Arts Society of Fuquay-Varina (CASF-V). CASF-V’s history is steeped in the very fabric of Fuquay-Varina.

CASF-V was established as a committee in 2003 by a local resident, the town’s mayor, a diverse group of interested clergy, and interested citizens, soon becoming a nonprofit organization and acquiring 501(c)(3) status in 2004.  Initially created to celebrate MLK (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) Day, the CASF-V has since embarked on establishing new community partnerships and programming—such as the International Cultural Festival held in 2019 and 2021—to further its mission of celebrating diversity in our community.

Today, the Board of Directors is composed of a group of accomplished and passionate individuals with a wealth of knowledge in community engagement, education, artistry, and professional development. The Board’s vision to appreciate and celebrate the diverse cultures in Fuquay-Varina has been the driving force in continuing to expand our reach and create awareness of the rich heritage those different cultural groups have brought to the table in the development of the town we know today.

As the Chair, I will work alongside the Board of Directors to further build on the foundation of the founders and previous leaders by fostering collaborative partnerships and promoting multicultural programming that reflects the continued changes and growth in Fuquay-Varina.

Respectfully,

Qisoundra Flowers,
Chair
