Qisoundra Flowers, Chair

A Louisiana native, now residing in Fuquay-Varina, NC with her wonderful husband, Alex.  She has a strong belief that every individual deserves dignity, respect, empowerment, and justice, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or economic status. With twenty years of professional experience in various sectors, Qisoundra brings a multi-faceted approach, rooted and guided by one principle: SERVICE. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from St. Xavier University and her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center, Qisoundra is ready to use her experiences to be a beacon of hope, an objective voice of reason, and a pillar of strength.  She a seasoned leader with a teammate mindset, who is supportive in nature and possesses a servant’s heart.  Many of these attributes lend perfectly to her desire for community engagement, cultural appreciation, and all things creative! She is a member of the Fuquay-Varina Downtown Rotary Club and is a board member of the Cultural Art Society of Fuquay-Varina. Equally, she manages to exercise her creative side through her participation in Performing and Visual Arts. She has even co-written and produced three stage plays!

Lynanne Fowle, Board Member

Lynanne Fowle grew up in New England and California but has lived in North Carolina for the last 24 years. Mother of 5 and (now) grandmother of 3, Lynanne has served as publications coordinator for Granite State College in New Hampshire, managing editor of TIPS Technical Publishing in Carrboro, executive director of what is now Southern Wake Academy, and membership director of the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce, as well as a variety of other freelance and contract positions.

She currently works in the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences at Campbell University as an admissions coordinator for four graduate programs. Aside from full-time work, Lynanne has been an active Rotarian for over 15 years and is currently the membership chair and past-president in the Downtown Fuquay-Varina Rotary Club. Her civic pursuits include serving on the Run the Quay planning committee, and active membership on the board of directors for the Cultural Arts Society of Fuquay-Varina. Lynanne is a writer/editor by trade, dabbles in the arts, loves reading and theater, plays Mahjong, enjoys ZenTangles, and scrapbooks.

Evelyn Smith Booker is the 8th of 10 children born to Roland and Eulah Smith in a small eastern NC town, Nakina, where she attended elementary and high school.

She and her sister were the first to integrate the Columbus County School System in 1965. She went onto graduate from North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC with B.A. in English

She retired in 2011 from Capitol Broadcasting after 30 years. Evelyn has been married to Lee Booker for 47 years, is the mother of 2 gifted daughters, and Nana to 5 grandchildren.
